Organizational Design

How might we help people thrive through change and transformation?

In almost every organizational transformation conversation, someone states the obvious, “change is hard.” It’s true that change involves effort but hard shouldn’t be associated with failure. With the proper steps, change and innovation can be successfully introduced and executed. The following work samples illustrate some deliverables and approaches.

Innovation Playbook

Worked with a Healthcare client to build their innovation team and capabilities. Created an end-to-end org design based on the Venture Innovation process and Org Activation Framework: purpose, talent, process, structure, enablers. This included a 400+ Page Manual, 200 page Innovation Playbook and 200+ page Skill Building Manual, accompanied by a detailed process map, 30+ Miro boards, as well as 20+ Design Research and Readout templates for a client. All material was created in tandem of piloting an MVP in a separate program track. All items have been re-skinned for frog and generalized for future client use after delivery.

Innovative Companies

Organizational life cycles are being cut short at a much faster rate than ever before. According to Credit Suisse, the average age of an S&P 500 company is under 20 years, which is down from the average 60 years in the 1950s. Advancements in technology are causing this trend to accelerate even faster. As organizations mature and grow, there is a need for continuous innovation to stay competitive within the market. At frog, our clients represent organizations of all sizes and maturity levels, and we help them continue innovating by understanding their needs, strategies, people, and vulnerabilities within their specific organizational life cycle.

Design Workshops

For a successful cocreation with the client, I have learned to facilitate workshops to clearly define success criteria, conduct political mapping, create journey maps, and/or other activities to receive the necessary inputs for the design process. Using these inputs, we are able to cocreate the transformation with the client.

Whether it's to create archetypes and personas, filling out a business model canvas, or story canvas, workshops combined with interviews and assessments help me and my team to create a tailored design for the client.

Virtual Workshops

COVID 19 pandemic shifted the way people work and collaborate. I helped design and co-facilitate a 200 person (🤯🤯🤯)  Miro workshop for the Miro 2020 Distributed Conference. Through this workshop, we walked through how people can collaborate and cocreate in an inclusive manner. We used the best practices from frog's cocreation workshops.

Change Readiness Assessments

Whether it's collecting quantitative data through surveys and/or capturing qualitative data through interviews and focus groups, I help analyze so that the organization has a better understanding of their present state. From there, I create frameworks and roadmaps to help organizations digest all information so that they have actionable next steps in an easy to understand format.

Diversity Equity and Inclusion

Although I'm not an expert in DE&I, the work that I do often dips its toes into DE&I conversations. This is because in order for people to innovate and thrive they need equitable workplaces. I facilitated and created a conscious conversations framework around DE&I both internally for all North America studios at frog as well as externally for clients. I have also previously facilitated conversations through Global Shapers as well as Spencer Stuart. In addition, as a public school educated (K-Grad School) immigrant and woman of color, I also consistently and actively connect with future leaders from underrepresented communities to brainstorm on how to create more equitable workplace practices.

Future Casting

I help organization assess industry trends and potential sources of disruption through an immersive process called "future casting." We then create actionable frameworks, roadmaps, etc. to guide long-term investments and strategic planning initiatives.
